If you need help with the basic stitches needed to make a granny square, check out this tutorial. Print out my handy pattern decoder.
materials needed:
- an I (5.50mm) size crochet hook {you could use any size really, as long as it works with your yarn choice}
- at least 1 color worsted medium weight yarn. I used 5 colors from Vanna White's collection.
Practice your granny squares... and add pics of them to my crochet-along flickr group. I also like to post pics on instagram and twitter using the hash tag: #crochetalong -join me! I can't wait to see what colors you choose.
Crochet 101 continues on Friday. I will have a super easy & fun project for us to work on together.
Next week I'm gonna share some variations of the granny square. Some are super easy, and others a bit more intricate. Don't worry though, I will walk you through each one, with more of my easy to follow illustrated patterns.
{I also found a few fun ways to join em together that you're gonna love}
til then, crochet on!
