Indie Craft Show Recap: Detroit Urban Craft Fair 2011

I am a craft show junkie. I admit it.
{but you guys already know that don't you? wink, wink}

So... last weekend I got to attend Handmade Detroit's 6th annual Holiday Handmade shopping Extravaganza, Detroit Urban Craft Fair (DUCF), as a sponsor and as the official photographer.
{i know. cool, right?!}

HD really knows how to do it up. The Masonic Temple's drill room was transformed into a festive holiday market featuring the some of the Detroit area's best artistic talent. I, of course, had some favorites, like these owls from Woolly Mammoth Designs.

And no Holiday is complete with out sharing my super mature sense of humor with someone by giving a gift from Kill Taupe. This year the Uncles are getting a super fresh magnet for their fridge. I can't say which one just in case they read this ;)

Bem & Gene have the cutest vintage styled bibs. I thought they would make such a cute Holiday gift for a baby boy. *sigh* so adorable...

The DJ played motown and vintage holiday records all weekend. It was great. I may have danced.

Sitting at the booth next to me was my new friend Chris from The Rust Belt Market in Ferndale. I hope you have been down there at least once already! If not, make sure you make it to their party on Friday. The market will also be open Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 7pm. It's another great opportunity to grab some amazing gifts straight from the artists/collectors themselves. I am so happy that they opened. I have a feeling The Rust Belt Market will be feeding my craft show addiction this winter. {thank goodness}

I really wanted this fabric {yes. all of it} but I am grounded from any fabric purchasing until February 26th, 2012. "It is soooo nice, I buy fabric from Noonday every time I see them" -says Karen LePage {from One Girl Circus} assuring me of it's amazing quality as she shoves at least 7.5 yards in her shopping bag. She has very good taste so I trust her.

These little guys from Deets would be a great addition to any style tree.
like the one at my house...

There were so many faves, I took over 400 photos over the weekend... check out the 175+ that I liked most on Flickr. I really had such a great time, and I just love the vendors... looking forward to next year already. My favorite pic from the weekend: THE MUPPET GALLERY/yearbook pic {I think those are my two fave titles} of all the participants from DUCF 2011. I love whoever added the text to the top of my photo for facebook. it is perfect!!!

The room was amazing. I met so many great people and got to share my blog and the new mag with thousands of people. I love you, Detroit!
