This shoulder bag is totally on my wish list:
When I asked Mandy how she gets her inspiration (and talent, heck, I can't sew buttons!) - she answered:
My inspiration for creating handbags came when my first child was born. As a new mom, I could not find a diaper bag that was both functional and modern to suit my taste. All the bags I found on the market were generally decorated with teddy bears and other juvenile prints. As I like to look good and fashionable, I could not accept the fact that there was nothing out there for me. I began to think that there must be many other new moms out there that thought like me. This inspired me to produce a hands-free designer diaper bag that went around my waist. I used colourful fabric and leather trim to add a bit of fun and glamour. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on creating original handbags. I finally took the plunge and started my handbag collection line under “Fuchst Bags” in February 2009. My handbags are featured and sold on Etsy, as well as at local craft shows.
FUCHST Bags can be found on Etsy, Zibbet, and her own website! Connect with her using Twitter, Facebook, or check out her blog! And for 2010, she is introducing an all leather line, so keep your eyes peeled and your wallet at the ready!
I graduated in the field of Fashion Design from Toronto ’s Sheridan College in 1988. I have since been designing and sewing wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, drapery, cushions, and handbags.

I LOVE smart designs and my intention is to not create JUST any bag…but a multi-functional stylish accessory that can be proudly carried anywhere. Some of my bags are designed with interchangeable straps so that it can be used as a wristlet, shoulder bag, or knapsack. Many customers have approached me to ask the origin of the name “FUCHST BAGS”. It’s simply short for Functional, Chic, and Stylish. I always keep my business name in mind whenever I come up with a new design.
Speaking of Functional, Chic, and Stylish:
