Handmade Gifts: Tangy Fruit Girl

Aileen Holmes is the creative force behind Tangy Fruit Girl on Etsy. She spent her youth drawing fantasy dresses and birthday cakes. As a grown up, she still portrays a youthful innocence with a sassy, confident attitude. Inspired by vintage fashion, flappers, mods, goths, pirates, and victorian ladies, Aileen Holmes represents these iconic images of women in her work. She's an avid vintage collector, fond of old wrapping paper, '60s teen magazines, and vintage clothing from the 1920's to 1970's.

Bat Girl

Her fun and flirty illustrations are an homage to the PinUp and vintage kitschy typography. Aileen's paintings combine her fashion illustrations with collected ephemera, ribbons, and buttons. She has also created an apparel and accessories line called Olivia Olive which is available in her Etsy shop, Tangy Fruit Girl.
